There's something fascinating about Koh Samui. Besides the natural beauty of their surroundings, the island can also be famous because of its warm weather that's perfect for getting a tan and going for a lazy walk along the pristine white sand.

Generally, the Samui weather conditions are sunny and bright and is ideal for swimming and offshore diving. It's also ideal for a day-long tour and shopping. Many visitors from all parts of the globe easily adore Koh Samui weather which is a primary reason why people keep on returning to this lovely island.

Despite being ideal for the beach, sunny Koh Samui weather has its own not-so-lovely aspects. The sun can be unforgiving sometimes, especially during the summer. The general rule of thumb would be to keep your body hydrated. People that are used to the weather from the tropics aren't that susceptible to heat. However, those that are used to colder climates should be wary.

An excessive amount of sun damage, particularly at its highest point (10 am to 3 pm) may cause a sunstroke. If not addressed properly, the individual are affected from severe dehydration and fatigue. So, whenever there's a scheduled tour, it's advised to consider enough water supply, along with some energy drinks to maintain your body's fluid balance.

Also, wearing sun-protection is a must for any visitor to the island. Although take advantage of the Samui weather to get a tan, your skin may become dry and patchy when subjected to the sun's rays. The use of lotion with SPF or sun protection factor of 15 and above is highly recommended. The harmful sunrays could cause sunburn, dark spots, and also at its worse, cancer of the skin. Had better be safe than sorry.

Along with SPF lotions and drinking lots of water, wearing protective clothing and gears like sun visor and hat can also be recommended. When at the beach, the body is subjected to greater quantity of sunrays since the water surface tends to reflect the rays and cause some glare. To shield your body and to maintain the body's temperature, wearing loose and comfortable cotton clothing is suggested, especially throughout a beach stroll.

As it is located at the tropics, Samui is also vulnerable to rain showers and thunderstorms. During these times, it is best to avoid the beach and stay indoors, simply to be on the safe side.
